Skillz VS Uncle Murda

If you haven't been into Hip-Hop or New Years Eve, then this is the post for you. Kick off your shoes and grab a drink. Virginia rapper Mad Skillz and ghostwriter to some of your favorite MC's started doing yearly rap ups on New Years Eve back in 2002. This was his gimmick and Hip-Hop loved it and still does. It's become a much beloved annual tradition. But since 2014, Skillz has had someone eating off his tradition. Uncle Murder started doing (w)rap ups as well. The thing is, they were better, stronger and more daring. Mr. Murder is more of a street rap star, so he addressed similar topics, but more harsh and funny. And our Uncle didn't ask Mr. Skillz for permission. So they have been at a friendly war ever since. Do me a favor and click below for examples. Keep in mind, Uncle Murder's verses have been getting longer. He does like 10 minute rap ups. Skillz Rap Up 2019 Uncle Murda Rap Up 2019 In 2017 turned 2018, the competition almost became physical. They...

Hip-Hop Saved My Life

I remember when I was younger and I first heard hip-hop come out of some speakers. I was hypnotized. I can't really explain it. It took over my soul and I wanted more. This was the time I use to be out in the streets being a bad boy before Biggie Smalls. Hanging on the corners, up to no good. I thought I was tough and a ladies man. Wrong! LOL! If it wasn't for Hip-Hop being on the radio at night, I'm not sure where I would be. Jail or dead. I would record at night when rap would come on. If anyone knows the radio stations that saved my life in NYC, comment below. I recorded on what they call cassette tapes and a boom box. Look them up KIDS. My friends at the time use to get mad at me for missing all the night time action. I'm glad for Hip-Hop. It saved my life. Many of my friends either were killed, locked up or injured pretty badly for trying to be a gangsta. My path changed, thanks to legends like EPMD, L.L. Cool J, Fat Boys, Salt and Pepa, MC Lyte, Public Enemy...
