Busta Rhymes - "E.L.E. 2: The Wrath of God" Album REVIEW

This is the ultimate surprise for the world of Hip-Hop. Busta Rhymes has returned to the MIC after eight years. His last solo album was 2012's Year of the Dragon. And this is the continuation of his 1998 album E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event): The Final World Front. Join me while I break down the legendary lyricist below.

Review:

Earlier this year, Busta announced this album with comic legend Chris Rock. He shared the good news on social media, which shows Mr. Rock bragging about Mr. Rhymes before revealing the album title. Now that it is out and about, let be one of first to break it down.

E.L.E. 2 Intro Ft. Chris Rock, Rakim and Pete Rock
This has to be the longest intro before we even hear an instrument or beat. It sounds like a movie, which isn't far stretched from Busta. All his visuals are usually over the top. Chris Rock has been yelling about Busta's album since it was announced. This track is interesting on how Busta and producer Nottz tackles the sounds and beat switches. When Rakim starts to flow, I'm already 100 percent into this project. How he rhymes over "The World is Yours" by Nasir Jones. Great first record to an incredible album.

The Purge
Produced by 1/2 of Verzus Swizz Beatz along with Avenue Beatz this one minute and 10 seconds song is cool. It breaks up the 8 minute song we just had. I'm wondering if Avenue Beatz is affiliated with Swizz? Let me know in the comments, if you know.

Strap Yourself Down
J Dilla and Pete Rock make this third track sound so inflamed, my ears still are hot. And the way they change the beat on Busta while he continued to murda the mic, was special. Love this record.

CZAR Ft. M.O.P.
Rockwilder continued the party with this bass heavy banger with M.O.P. in the background making the track more tougher than Run D.M.C's leather. There's a video to this track that makes other videos look like elementary visuals.

Outta My Mind Ft. Bell Biv Devoe
I like the way Busta and producer Dready chops up this Bell, Bive Devoe track, but I thought this was going to be an original track. I'm from Boston, so I was really excited. But, I'm going to have to fall back on this joint, but it's still a dope concept.

E.L.E. 2 The Wrath of God Ft. Minister Louis Farrakhan
Busta and Nottz on this track. It's always a great pleasure to hear the Minister on any track. He's been fighting for the Black culture since birth. Busta was due for a track about the political bullshit we are going through. And this joint actual keeps my attention throughout.

Slow Flow Ft. Old Dirty Bastard
Nottz goes in solo this time on this track. When I saw the track list prior to this album, I was mad excited to hear some new lyrics from ODB. You have to remember, there are usually unreleased tracks from people that pass away, but this was not one of them. It still was a favorable joint that I enjoyed. Busta spits various classic album cover titles, giving props to other Hip-Hop legends.

Don't Go Ft. Q-Tip
I never heard of this producer Focus the A.R.M., but this smooth boom bap beat fits Busta and Q-Tips vibe. I really enjoy Busta on the chorus talking about killing it with the Slow Flow. I'm wondering if the Q-Tip verse is from when these two were working on "The Abstract and the Dragon" mixtape.

BOOMP!
DJ Scratch joins the other producers with dope ass track. This track bangs like when people use to actually add large speakers in their cars. Who remembers that? Dudes on the block use to flood the streets and shake houses. Project bricks would shake.

True Indeed
My boy DJ Premier finally blesses Mr. Rhymes on this album. I was praying that Premo hooked up one of the most lyrical MCS in the game. Track should of been longer though.

Master Fard Muhammad Ft. Rick Ross
Terrance Martin and Hi-Tek caress this smooth Jazzy beat allowing Rick Ross and Busta give you that smooth flow that makes you want to smoke a fat blunt and sip on some wine with wifey. Chris Rock is throughout the album talking trash. If your a fan, you won't be annoyed. LOL!

YUUUU Ft. Anderson. Paak
Anderson blesses the beat and the track. The video is dope! I wouldn't mind both of these MC'S doing an entire project. They sound very natural together and they seem to have great chemistry.

OH NO
Producer Dready stole all the BASS from Hip-Hop and laced this track. The way Busta forecasted BARS on this track is the standout. Busta is on my Hip-Hop Mount Rushmoore all day. And yes, I have more than four heads on my joint. Way more than these corny list people put together. "OH NO!"

The Don and The Boss Ft. Vybz Kartel
Dude said your pu-pu smell like onion and scallions. Busta, Vybz and producer Schife stunk up the joint with this one. Usually rap and raggae don't match, but this joint is FIRE. There is a video.

Best I Can Ft. Rapsody
9th Wonder is in his BEAT BAG on this joint. And with his prize MC Rapsody bringing lyrical content, this joint stands out to be a highlight on this project. There are not many female/male joints that become HITS. This is a hit all day and night. Fight me in the comments.

Where I Belong Ft. Mariah Carey
Producers Rick Rock and Navi Beats seemed to put together a throwback R&B RAP collaboration from the 90's. It's okay, but not could of been left off this project.

Deep Thought
Busta is in his production bag on this joint along with other joints above. Not a bad song, but also could of been left off the album. I'm a A&R in my mind. I bet you 100 dollars, I can beat you in a 10 song battle from any era. Let's battle.

The Young God Speaks
Just Young Mike getting us ready for the next track.

Look Over Your Shoulder Ft. Kendrick Lamar
Hip-Hop hasn't heard K. Lamar in about 2 years. And guess what? Chicken Butt! LOL. Kendrick didn't dissappoint. Busta got him on this track though. What do you think? Shout out to Nottz for the track.

You Will Never Find Another Me Ft. Mary J. Blige
There is a bit of conversation about Mary online, but lets talk about that in the comments. Busta Rhymes produced this track solo. I'm feeling this one to the roota to the toota. Mary has more hits than Busta. Maybe they should do a Verzus battle Swizz and Timerland. Let's Go!

Freedom? Ft. Nikki Grier
Nottz blessed us with another track. Put some respect on Nottz. He's been putting out hits like the greats. Nikki Grier did her thang on the chorus. Busta is going down to be one of the BEST album creators in the game. What's your favorite Busta Rhymes project?

Satanic
I know it's scary season, but this beat got Halloween written all over it. Shout to Rockwilder. Busta Rhymes made sure all rappers know he's one of the TOP MC'S IN THE GAME PERIODT. LET'S FIGHT IN THE COMMENTS.

The Album gets a #ClassicHipHopAlbum! 5/5 for everything from the beats, lyrical content and theme. 22 tracks that you can play through and enjoy. How many MICS do you give this project?

My Grade For Album (Rate: 1 Lowest and 5 Highest)
Beats: 5.0
Lyrical Content: 5.0
Album Structure/Theme: 5.0

G Fam Black VS Ceverely Yours

G Fam Black VS Ceverely Yours Dear G Fam Black, Thank you once again for participating in this interview. I know you don’t do many press features, and this is a wonderful chance for your fans to learn a bit about you while still keeping some of that mystery. I truly appreciate it. Peace, G. I’m grateful for this opportunity! - G Fam Black Questions & Answers: 1. Are you originally from Brockton Massachusetts? And where are the best places to eat? Absolutely, I was born and raised in Brockton. There are plenty of great food spots here. For the best chicken, I’d recommend “Yas Chicken” and “Birdies Hot Chicken”, which are both fantastic. For breakfast, I have to mention “Alexander's Family Restaurant”. They’ve been around since I was a kid, and their omelets are incredible. For pizza, “Cape Cod Cafe Pizza” is the way to go—it's the best bar pizza in the world, a true South Shore Massachusetts specialty. A lot of towns near Brockton brag about having the best bar pizza, but th...

How To Support Your Local Rapper/Producer?

The Core Problem: The Illusion of Support vs. Real Financial Impact Many fans believe that streaming a song, watching a music video, or following an artist on social media is "support." While this is valuable for visibility, it provides almost no direct income, especially for artists without major label backing. The Streaming Chasm:  It's well-known that streaming payouts are meager. An artist might need  hundreds of thousands of streams  just to earn a modest monthly rent. For underground rappers without playlist placements or algorithmic favor, this is an insurmountable hurdle. The "Exposure" Fallacy:  Many shows, especially for opening acts or in competitive markets, are "pay-to-play" or offer minimal guarantees. Playing for "exposure" doesn't pay bills. So, if streaming and low-tier shows don't cut it, how  can  fans genuinely support rappers, especially underground ones? Let's break it down by impact. Tier 1: The Lifeblood ...

P-Ro is 12 FOR 12

Dear P-Ro, Thank you once again for participating in this interview. The year of 2025 was definitely a great year for you. 12 Albums in 12 months is something to be proud of. Your consistency, drive and performance shows, if you work hard, the world is yours. Questions & Answers: 01 Releasing one album per month for a year is a monumental, almost athletic creative feat. What was the core philosophy or personal need that drove this marathon? Was it to break a habit, prove something, or simply because the music was overflowing? -It was actually a little bit of all those, and wanting to challenge myself with a goal and try to get better at being organized. The list of projects I made in December looks different than what I ended up doing. If I wasn't dedicated to monthly drops, I probably wouldn't have made 4-5 of the ones I did. It's great to have a team that's like-minded and can dive in with me when I need them and make great, fun music together and share it with th...
