Westside Gunn - Pray For Paris Album REVIEW

Can you say BOSS MOVES? Well Westside Gunn can say it in FRENCH as well as English. His NEW project "Pray for Paris" invites the Paris's ART world to what we in America call, "Street Hip-Hip". The cover alone was designed by the legendary Virgil Abloh. "Brick on my Brick!"

Review:

When you open up the album on Tidal, we get a surprise. It moves! And if you think this is going to be the highlight, WRONG! I can only describe this album as ART vs. The Hood. Westside, if you reading, you should get that, sense your into wrestling.

Your hit with odd features that work very well. Your hit with odd productions credits as well. How's Tyler, The Creator and Jay Versace sound? They both have production credits. And Tyler blesses the mic on "327" along with Joey Bada$$. Does it work? Is the sky blue? Is Paris known for Art? And lets not forget about the Wale cut, which is a huge highlight.

And of course he aligned himself with heavy production from DJ Premier, DJ Muggs, The Alchemist and Daringer. Then he also aligned himself with lyrical GIANTS like Roc Marciano, Freddie Gibbs, Benny The Butcher and Conway The Machine. Westside Gunn's vision is incredible on this project. It's organic.

This album sticks to the roots of the Griselda sound. Don't think he crossed over. When it comes to Westside, people crossover to him. He's a natural born leader in Hip-Hop and I'd like to thank his parents. Matter of fact, everyone thank there parents right now. Shout them out in the comments.

Mr. Gunn secretly had the Coronavirus while creating this project. And recovered well. He said when he was doing the Premo track, he had to keep resting his voice and the short song took longer to make than usual. That track is a stand out too. The legend DJ, beat maker and best storyteller on the planet blessed this album.

Westside's relationships with people will surprise you if you don't know him. He's been rocking with Virgil "Off White" Abloh for years. They've been supporting each other without publicity. The cover of this album is fire. Great job Mr. Abloh.

So, what's the mic rating? Let's just say almost #classic. The beats take you places you've never been and the lyrics and sing-a-long tracks add to Hip-Hop to the fullest. This album is scored 4 MICS! Great production, not the best lyricist (but cleaver) and the Theme is incredible.

G Fam Black VS Ceverely Yours

G Fam Black VS Ceverely Yours Dear G Fam Black, Thank you once again for participating in this interview. I know you don’t do many press features, and this is a wonderful chance for your fans to learn a bit about you while still keeping some of that mystery. I truly appreciate it. Peace, G. I’m grateful for this opportunity! - G Fam Black Questions & Answers: 1. Are you originally from Brockton Massachusetts? And where are the best places to eat? Absolutely, I was born and raised in Brockton. There are plenty of great food spots here. For the best chicken, I’d recommend “Yas Chicken” and “Birdies Hot Chicken”, which are both fantastic. For breakfast, I have to mention “Alexander's Family Restaurant”. They’ve been around since I was a kid, and their omelets are incredible. For pizza, “Cape Cod Cafe Pizza” is the way to go—it's the best bar pizza in the world, a true South Shore Massachusetts specialty. A lot of towns near Brockton brag about having the best bar pizza, but th...
