Review:

Some people are calling this an EP and some an album. According to what an EP is in the dictionary, this is an ALBUM. EP stands for extended play and is a musical recording that contains more tracks than a single, but doesn't qualify as an album or LP. Moving on.

The Griselda camp has been working with The Alchemist for years, so this is not a surprised combination album. It is an album that is needed though. The good NEWS for the Griselda team is that they are the hottest group/individual artist currently. I'm pretty sure all the hot producers are throwing beats there way or asking them to do a project as such.

I'm been a fan of The Alchemist since he linked up with Mobb Deep awhile back. He's always has had a sound like no other. He's a leader in the game, which is probably why he's not as known. He use to have a signature sound, but The Alchemist is very unpredictable with his sound now, which spells out growth.

Conway is 1/3 of the group Griselda, which put out there first official album last year on a major. And what got them on partnering with majors are there underground past work. If your a recent fan, please do your research. They consist of Conway, Westside Gunn and Benny the Butcher. When there not being a super group, they venture off and work with heavy hitting producers and other lyrical artist, making significant projects like this one.

The album begins with the classic Damon Dash, "Paid In Full" movie quotes and continues throughout the project, along with other gangster movie quotes. Paid in Full is probably used more in music than "Boys N The Hood" or "Menace 2 Society".

The highlights of this project is that the movie content and beats don't take away from Conway's lyrical ability to slaughter a track. If you don't like straight street hip-hop, you might want to only get in Conway's ocean once and go back to that corny mumble rap on land. If your ready to swim with precaution, get your life vest and devour this and other work from the prodigy.

"Look, shit ain't a game, nigga, use caution
Rapper come to my city, young nigga gon' try to take his jewels off him (Run that)
Gettin’ money, that's what I do often (Hah)
Get treated like I'm the big ticket when I'm movin' through Boston (Hah)" - 14 KI's

The funny thing about this project is, it's just an appetizer. Conway has been telling the scene that his actual album has been done and is coming out on Shady Records. He's been teasing us, with projects like this for like a year. Conway, if your reading or watching my YouTube video, we ready brother. Let that album out now. It's time.

My favorite tracks are, "The Contract", "Shoot Sideways", "Calvin" and "Gold BBS'S". The last three I mentioned stand out and will be in my 2020 Hip-Hop rotation. With Shoot Sideways, the single with ScHoolboy Q, the beat, rhymes and chorus intertwine like your favorite mom cooked meal. The meal you ask for when she ask, "What y'all want for dinner?" On Calvin, Conway changes his flow a bit to a faster, but clear rhyme pattern. It sounds a bit like a trap rapper flow, but for some reason, it's still hood as fuck. Then on Gold BBS'S, I'm hypnotized by the beat and in a trance with Conway's content.

I'm giving this album a 3.33 MIC rating. If you think the album deserves more, comment below and tell me why. It's a short project with not a lot of room for critique. If you ask me, it's just something to hold Hip-Hop over a bit until he blesses us with longer and more thought provoking releases slating for later this year.

G Fam Black VS Ceverely Yours Dear G Fam Black, Thank you once again for participating in this interview. I know you don’t do many press features, and this is a wonderful chance for your fans to learn a bit about you while still keeping some of that mystery. I truly appreciate it. Peace, G. I’m grateful for this opportunity! - G Fam Black Questions & Answers: 1. Are you originally from Brockton Massachusetts? And where are the best places to eat? Absolutely, I was born and raised in Brockton. There are plenty of great food spots here. For the best chicken, I’d recommend “Yas Chicken” and “Birdies Hot Chicken”, which are both fantastic. For breakfast, I have to mention “Alexander's Family Restaurant”. They’ve been around since I was a kid, and their omelets are incredible. For pizza, “Cape Cod Cafe Pizza” is the way to go—it's the best bar pizza in the world, a true South Shore Massachusetts specialty. A lot of towns near Brockton brag about having the best bar pizza, but th...
