38 Spesh x Benny the Butcher - "Stabbed & Shot" Album REVIEW

I've been anticipating three MC's this year, more than others. Che-Noir, who dropped two classics this year (2020). And 38 Spesh and Benny the Butcher. They BOTH have Hip-Hop waiting. I'm writing this on 7/18/2020. I had to review their 2018 #Hiphopclassic, "Stabbed & Shot".

Below is the written blog version, I also have a YouTube version. Click Below Please and subscribe to my YouTube channel. I love the Hip-Hop Genre and it saved my life on a serious note. Please read other blog to here the story.

Review:

These 2 Weight MC'S have been in my Top 10/Top 5 lyrical list for two years and counting. I first discovered 38 Spesh looking up the Legend Kool G. Rap. While looking up Kool G. Rap's classic music, I bumped into the some say classic, "Son Of G Rap" featuring Kool G. Rap. Once, I dived into this album and figured out this was not G. Raps son, I started to research 38 Spesh as an artist.

That's when I found this album, "Stabbed & Shot". And once I catch up with Spesh, then I started to research Benny. And you know that led to other MC's that are involved in both of their circles. MC's like, Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, Che Noir, Roc Marciano, Ransom, Stove God Cooks, G4 JAG, Flee Lord, Eto, El Camino and much more. Check my other Blogs and Youtube REVIEWS for other artist I love.

I'm going to briefly talk about the tracks below and quote some bars. Check out my Youtube REVIEW below, where I try to rhyme them. It's worth the laugh.

Intro
Benny's bars focus a bit on basketball references and quotes, "...when she unbuckle my Louie, she gotta ask to do it." He relates to he Boss like respect even with his Main Lady, saying she even has to ask to touch him, which is grimy and fowl at the same time. Then Spesh quotes, "...I know she would cheat when her feet hit the sand." Spesh speaks on stealing your girl and knowing she will cheat on you as sound as she is away. This has to be one of the best Intro's I've heard.

Drivers Seat Ft. Styles P. & Jadakiss
This is where the two Newer MC's link with two veteran MC's and use their known in Hip-Hop, Jada & Styles flow. 38 and Benny both hold their own with the veteran D-Block ALLSTARS. On this track, check for what 38 Spesh says about Gina from the show Martin. It's hilarious.

Thruway Music
This track is gangsta lyrics at there finest. And the way both lyrical KINGS speak on drugs in detail, you start to wonder. LOL. They must read and watch a lot of gangsta stories. Let's just say they are great researchers. Their bars are a narrative to a movie. Speaking of movies, check for "Conflicted" coming out this year, starring the young start Benny the Butcher. If it's anything like his music, this movies should be worth watching.

Gun or Knife
This track is another joint the guys go back and forth and master more drug talk. Their metaphors are all rewindable. You find yourself hearing something different every time you listen. I be like, "On snap, NOW I GET IT!"

2 Weapons
38 Spesh Quote: "I put a phone line in your Bitch name and tell her not to call it/.44 six shot revolver/One bullet'll have him jumping out the chair lik he not the father."

Paper Trail
Benny the Butcher Quote: "Make it home, then I cut a hoe up into equal sections/My other Bitch hate to be neglected/She want it, I text "I'm coming" and the Bitch know to delete the message."

So Strategic
The beat sounds like it's Japanese influenced. Spesh's beats are just amazing. Go check out some of his just produced albums only where he doesn't even rhyme. Examples: Rasheed Chappell, Che Noir, Army of Trust II and 1000 Words. There are much more.....

My River (38 Spesh Solo Joint)
"I been up, trips out West middle of the winter/Give us an address, and I get em' delivered car not a rental the crew steal? We Kill every member."

Man of the Kitchen (Benny the Butcher Solo Joint)
"We did robberies and ate lobsters, my momma's my witness/As a hustler, I stayed hungrier than my my competition that's real shit, my OG's bought bricks and gave pointers to us/Then I joined 'EM doin it, now I'm talkin' WHITE like Joyner Lucas."

Game Away Ft. Emanny
On the LAST track Benny and Spesh go back and forth with even closer bars and flow like ONE MC, making this another one of my favorites and rotation tracks. I'll end the BLOG with a 38 Spesh quote. "Yo Benny, they hate me cuz the car ain't leased/So I don't say HI to these niggas, I say peace now I don't stop on the block, I just speed knowing when I leave niggas saying fuck me."

The overall Rating: 5 MICS!!!!!

G Fam Black VS Ceverely Yours

G Fam Black VS Ceverely Yours Dear G Fam Black, Thank you once again for participating in this interview. I know you don’t do many press features, and this is a wonderful chance for your fans to learn a bit about you while still keeping some of that mystery. I truly appreciate it. Peace, G. I’m grateful for this opportunity! - G Fam Black Questions & Answers: 1. Are you originally from Brockton Massachusetts? And where are the best places to eat? Absolutely, I was born and raised in Brockton. There are plenty of great food spots here. For the best chicken, I’d recommend “Yas Chicken” and “Birdies Hot Chicken”, which are both fantastic. For breakfast, I have to mention “Alexander's Family Restaurant”. They’ve been around since I was a kid, and their omelets are incredible. For pizza, “Cape Cod Cafe Pizza” is the way to go—it's the best bar pizza in the world, a true South Shore Massachusetts specialty. A lot of towns near Brockton brag about having the best bar pizza, but th...
