Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist - "Alfredo" Album REVIEW

Combo albums are becoming a thing again in the music industry. Producers are doing entire albums again. For Hip-Hop it's been a blessing. Albums such as this one fits the bill and I'm paying for it FULL PRICE.

And y'all already know Freddie Gibbs is one of the top 20 MC'S in the game right now. I shouldn't have to explain that, I hope. If your puzzled, you have some homework to do young samurai. He has a 2020 pimp flow that chokes the dictionary and slams the culture topics of the world.

Let's talk about these elite features he has on this album. "NAW! My finger NEVER can point, you know pussy BEST when it's moist" - Benny The Butcher. This dude is a serious problem. And remember guys, he hasn't dropped a solo project yet this year. Just think about this quote alone. He's saying he doesn't snitch and he BUST his GUN with his own language. We may need a Hip-Hop Benny The Butcher College course to break down this dudes work.

The legend Rick Ross drops by on one of my other favorite cuts, "Scottie Beam" to bless our ears with some Maybach Music Group vibes. The song actual seems like it was just laced for these two gentlemen. If that was the case, The Alchemist hit that nail on the head.

Conway the Machine also dropped by to murder "Babies & Fools". This MC dropped two projects this year already. Go check out "LULU" and "No One Mourns the Wicked". Conway takes his time on this track, making it his bitch like he usually does with beats.

Oh, let me not forget about the artist Tyler, The Creator. He jumped on "Something to Rap to" and made sure his verse would be remembered.

Nail is in the coffin, Freddie sent me this shit
This sound like the boat I haven't bought yet
This sound like the moment I jump off it
Sun shinin', cold water fillin' in my pockets - Tyler, The Creator

Tyler is a beast. We will also need a college class to break down his bars as well. And Alchemist, you heard Tyler, your beats sound like some boat music. Are you still in your "Yacht Rock 2" album mood?

Even though Freddie Gibbs can handle his own on a record, I appreciate the MC's he selected for this project. And THANK YOU Mr. Gibbs if your reading or checking out my YouTube videos. Let me give you your flowers while your here and can appreciate them. And speaking of praise, go check out my REVIEW on Flee Lord's album called, "Hand Me My Flowers".

This album is close to a #hiphopclassic, but fell short on the beats. I like The Alchemist, but some of his beats just sound TOO YACHT ROCK 2 like. The beats are not terrible, I'm just ready to hear something a bit more from the legendary beat/producer.

I'm giving this album 4.5 MICS. It's beautiful music mixed with heavy thinking bars that entertain. What else can you ask for?
Every time I listen to Freddie Gibbs, I think of the 70's. Disco, Pimps, bad carpet, butterfly collars and stale cigarettes. I picture Gibbs in his studio with glow in the dark black power posters, incense burning and three miscellaneous AFRO PICKS. I'm just saying this dude reminds me of my uncle Gene with current flair. #RIPGENE

*Personal GEM: If you ever wonder why I call my self the "MasterBlaster" it's because of my uncle Gene that Mr. Gibbs reminds me of. It's a long story and it involves karate, a bad learning about sex speech and getting punched in the chest in order to be a man. Check my other BLOGS.

The collaboration with The Alchemist on this project is what the streets needs right now. Good vibes and mellow tunes laced with some of the hardest rhyme gods in the business. Shout to Alchemist with these beats. They seem simple, but when you really listen, there too much flavor in these beats. It fits the current rap 70's flow that Freddie has.

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you on my YouTube as a subscriber.

G Fam Black VS Ceverely Yours

G Fam Black VS Ceverely Yours Dear G Fam Black, Thank you once again for participating in this interview. I know you don’t do many press features, and this is a wonderful chance for your fans to learn a bit about you while still keeping some of that mystery. I truly appreciate it. Peace, G. I’m grateful for this opportunity! - G Fam Black Questions & Answers: 1. Are you originally from Brockton Massachusetts? And where are the best places to eat? Absolutely, I was born and raised in Brockton. There are plenty of great food spots here. For the best chicken, I’d recommend “Yas Chicken” and “Birdies Hot Chicken”, which are both fantastic. For breakfast, I have to mention “Alexander's Family Restaurant”. They’ve been around since I was a kid, and their omelets are incredible. For pizza, “Cape Cod Cafe Pizza” is the way to go—it's the best bar pizza in the world, a true South Shore Massachusetts specialty. A lot of towns near Brockton brag about having the best bar pizza, but th...

P-Ro is 12 FOR 12

Dear P-Ro, Thank you once again for participating in this interview. The year of 2025 was definitely a great year for you. 12 Albums in 12 months is something to be proud of. Your consistency, drive and performance shows, if you work hard, the world is yours. Questions & Answers: 01 Releasing one album per month for a year is a monumental, almost athletic creative feat. What was the core philosophy or personal need that drove this marathon? Was it to break a habit, prove something, or simply because the music was overflowing? -It was actually a little bit of all those, and wanting to challenge myself with a goal and try to get better at being organized. The list of projects I made in December looks different than what I ended up doing. If I wasn't dedicated to monthly drops, I probably wouldn't have made 4-5 of the ones I did. It's great to have a team that's like-minded and can dive in with me when I need them and make great, fun music together and share it with th...

How To Support Your Local Rapper/Producer?

The Core Problem: The Illusion of Support vs. Real Financial Impact Many fans believe that streaming a song, watching a music video, or following an artist on social media is "support." While this is valuable for visibility, it provides almost no direct income, especially for artists without major label backing. The Streaming Chasm:  It's well-known that streaming payouts are meager. An artist might need  hundreds of thousands of streams  just to earn a modest monthly rent. For underground rappers without playlist placements or algorithmic favor, this is an insurmountable hurdle. The "Exposure" Fallacy:  Many shows, especially for opening acts or in competitive markets, are "pay-to-play" or offer minimal guarantees. Playing for "exposure" doesn't pay bills. So, if streaming and low-tier shows don't cut it, how  can  fans genuinely support rappers, especially underground ones? Let's break it down by impact. Tier 1: The Lifeblood ...
