Got to be in grace first to fall from it
That money chase birthed the fall summit
Was wasteful as big eyes and a small stomach
Funny used to call my friends money, I lost hundreds - Solitude of Enoch
Don't read any further, if you didn't go insane from the verse above. This Artist and Album is a PROBLEM!
Hip-Hop has changed consistently since it has began. Maybe I shouldn't use the word change. Hip-Hop has expanded to various styles of expressions and tones. And with Brownsville, NYC emcee/producer Ka's 7th Album release, it proves that his format of blessing the MIC is unique. Let's discuss below.

Review:
There are so much music out there for our ears and we are so lucky to have it. I was recently introduced to Ka a couple of weeks ago from someone that viewed one of my YouTube reviews. Music fan Jersey McGee informed me about KA. Thank you sir. And if you have an artist you think I'd like, please suggest in comments here or on YouTube.
This album is needed currently. During this worldly epidemic, religion, love and honesty is needed. Ka delivers. And my ears, soul and heart are listening.
I recently reviewed Dee-1's album "Timeless" and it's a christian rap album, but it's the epitome of Hip-Hop. Listening to this album, I feel the same way.
You know how they say, things happen for a reason? Well this album was delivered to me because I needed it. I'm going through tough times. I'm losing family, Coronavirus is limiting life in general and things seems to be falling apart around me. This album is helping me coop. I'd like to thank Brownsville native Ka early in this review for this album.
Now, is this album religious? The theme is, but it's not Gospel Rap at all. It's more like the Hip-Hop bible. This album has my fingers on the rewind button. I believe I have listened to it more times than any other artist I reviewed so far. The reason behind that is, all the beats allow you to hear the artist from beginning to end. And his lyrics need to be dissected and broken down to appreciate the ART and INFO he's presenting.
Most of the production was done by KA himself. He's found his groove with producing his 7th album. Producers such as Preservation, Animoss and Roc Marciano also bless a few tracks, but KA's production is heavy. KA is definitely in his bag with these beats. They fit his ability to teach who's listening about his personal struggles and continuous grapple with the world. On "Every Now and Then" he quotes, "Loved things I should of lusted, I rushed it, snubbed things I should of trusted". This was his first line going into this album. I was hooked, lined and sinked with his word play from the beginning.
The beats are on a slower tone and not the boom bap most people are looking for when it comes to Hip-Hop. But like I said earlier, the production allows you to appreciate the BARS this intelligent artist is flowing. On "Patron Saints" Ka takes on a journey to explaining his role models and past interactions that allegedly led him to drug dealing. "I was raised to age a few years in a day, If not elite, didn't eat if you didn't pray. As much as I heal, had to deal, all my scars are here to stay, Our senseis spent days peddling, Our heroes sold heroin." WOW! I'm speechless at times when I catch bars like this. And he is lyrical like this throughout the entire album. He said our senseis (masters) spent days selling drugs, this is why he allegedly went down that negative road. People only do what they know. What they are taught. And life has taught this KING to express himself in ways the Hip-Hop community will envy.
I could quote this lyrical genius all day, but I'll let you judge for yourself when your ears are soaked with his cadence. People will say he reminds them of artist such as Roc Marciano, Stove God Cooks and Knowledge the Pirate. Guess what? That's a compliment. And if you do your research, you'll find out Ka has been putting out some of the BEST underground HIP-HOP albums released in the 2010's. Check out 2016's Honor Killed The Samurai and 2018's Orpheus vs. the Sirens. Some of his greatest work besides this joint.
You can even go further back with Ka's 2012 Grief Pedigree or 2013 The Night's Gambit which proved and set his stamp on Hip-Hop. Go back and listen to this artist's work. His poetic lyrics and clever metaphors are worthy of your attention now and in the future.
I'll let you know ahead of time though. If you love lyrical word play, this artist will be in your top 10 by the end of the day. If you don't like slower production, you maybe bored. Not that the production is not good, it's just not the boom bap most are use too. This artist takes you on a mission on each record. He's a teacher, a poet, a human that is living and is not scared to tell the truth. His lyrical word play alone is 5 MICS.
This album's RATING is #Classic. Now, I only gave the production 4.5, but the lyrical content is a 5 plus. This artist can flow off the sound of streaming water. I'm just hypnotize by his lyrical content that the beats usually fall in the distance. I'm very intrigued how this performer creates. If someone knows if this artist writes or spits from the head, please comment below. But this album is up for debate for the hottest work in 2020. Let's debate. I'm giving this album 5 MICS.
KA, if your reading or viewing my YouTube review, THANK YOU sir. Your work is getting me through hard times. Your work is healing my heart from the WORLDS issues. Your work is making me fall more in LOVE with the 5 ELEMENTS we call HIP-HOP.
